Walter Wanger
A few days we talked about a project in which Nicole Kidman is going to interpret a transsexual. Ribotsky, a top and managing partner of th I thought that was weird. But this pair is so much more? The millionaire Paris Hilton and filmmaker are going to work together in a movie. I think this could be overcome if only because Michael Bay remake of a wheel? Citizen Kane? with Lindsay Lohan player. Anyway, the movie in question is now announced a sequel to? Happiness? (1998), the most famous works (and better, in my opinion) of Solondz. While there is no title for this film, in fact, more than a continuation will be a narrative parallel to the events of the previous film.Walter Wanger was an American film producer born on July 11, 1894 in San Francisco.
His real name was Feuchtwangen Wanger. He was the son of a wealthy family of upper-middle class. It was the third of four siblings. His father was a Jew named inmigrate Bavaro-Feuchtwangen Sigmund, who was involved in textile trade. Instead, his mother, belonged to the New York high society and a descendant of German-American family. Wanger as both her brothers were, like her mother, a refined education and became educated people. While Wanger not professed the Jewish faith as his father always spoke in favor of this religious community.
Wanger’s father died of cardiac arrest in 1905, after 50 years. Her mother decided to move to Europe and Wanger and his brothers studied in Switzerland, enabling them to acquire a mastery of fluent French and German. Finally, two years later, in 1907, returned to New York where he came into contact with the social elite which was related with the maternal family, among whom were some of the richest families on the east coast.
These contacts also allowed to Wanger and his brothers come into contact with the art world and were interested both in the fine arts, as the world’s Theater.
Wanger started to take an interest in the theater professionally and began working on Broadway as an apprentice with Cole Porter, both worked for Clifton Webb who was involved in organizing auditions for dancers. has quite a bit of news coverage about him and his have done really well and even meet with some oppositional press In a short time, as have media, Wagner became producer, making its first success with a new book titled Ception Shoals. Despite this, the First World War paralyzed his career just taking off.
As soon as I declare war, he enlisted and Wanger, thanks to their family connections, very soon he became lieutenant and, despite being a lousy pilot, I come into the body of aviators. But soon he was transferred to the body of intelligence and propaganda, where Wanger come into contact, for the first time, with the cinema.
In September 1919, Wanger is the case of Justine Johnstone who divorciaria in September 1938.
After the war, continued with the theater and, in 1920, as the Paramount contract as ayudantedel producer Jesse L. Lasky. Wanger only work a year for Paramount, then was fired after a disagreement with Lasky. However, he was able to learn the whole process of production of a movie, make contacts in the world and participate in major titles such as The Sheik with Rudolph Valentino (in Spanish titled as: El Sheikh, El Sheikh, The Fall, and even The captive the Moorish warlord.
After leaving Paramount, is set in London where he is dedicated to the exhibition and distribution of films, which is very profitable, while still producing plays, because their produce is passion.
In 1923, Lasky ceases to be the general manager of the Paramount and Wanger back to it. From there begins a period of 8 years in which Wanger oversee major titles like: This is not that (It) and Wings (Wings) or The four coconuts (The Cocoanuts). This enabled him to establish good relationships with stars of the caliber of Clara Bow, Miriam Hopkins, Kay Francis or Marx Brothers.
In 1931, change the leadership of the Paramount and, after a brief stay in Columbia, just Wanger seek in the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. Alli was responsible for the Queen Christina of Sweden (Queen Christina, 1933) with Greta Garbo and The Awakening of a Nation (Gabriel over the White House, 1933).
Shortly afterwards, abandoning Metro and began his career as an independent producer (albeit with a distribution contract with Paramount) and held this role the decade between 1930 and 1950.
I reach great prestige, not only for his distinguished past in the majors, but, as an independent producer, for its great criterion in selecting what kind of movies produced. Working with directors of the stature of Alfred Hitchcock, John Ford or Fritz Lang and get to compete with heavyweights like Samuel Goldwyn and Darryl F. Zanuck. In addition, Wanger had won the media, was a U.S. producer of birth, also belonging to the elite of society New Yorker, in the midst of an industry which had dominated the immigrants who had reached the New World without a penny.
His first film was Merchants of death, then led 13 other films in the three years following, among which highlights the path of lone pine, the first movie filmed in Technicolor on location.
In 1936, Wanger change of distributor and move to partner with United Artists beginning to confront ever more ambitious projects as only live once or Stagecoach.
The interest of Wanger by the political manifesto is in some of its productions as Lock (Blockade), set during the Spanish civil war.
